Helping SQL Server DBAs prepare for and recover from disaster
The purpose of this site is to provide a better understanding of the backup and recovery procedures for SQL Server databases. We do this with detailed examples that you can incorporate into your own disaster recovery plan. This site is completely FREE, and you don't even have to register to view all of our content. We would however love for you to contact us to let us know what you liked about the site and how we can make it even better.
EXERCISES:
- Click on the links in the exercises sections to see very long, detailed examples complete with screen shots
- Most of the exercises are meant to simulate real-world failures and show a DBA how to achieve the most full recovery possible
- Use and modify the exercises to meet your own needs when crafting your database disaster recovery plan
- WARNING: All exercises must be performed on non-production databases on non-production servers. These exercises are meant to be tried in a closed development environment - from there you can adapt them to meet your own needs.
